Wow, it's been a long time. I have neglected our little blog for so long I would be surprised if there are any followers left out there. Oh well, I'll post a quick update in hopes that a few friends out there in the world haven't given up on our sad and lonely little blog.
Sarah is 9 months now and is all over the place crawling around and eating all sorts of gross stuff off the floor and out of the grass. She and Sadie are so cute together these days. Sarah watches her big sisters every move and loves to play and giggle with her. Sarah now has two teeth coming in so her nursing days are numbered. I can't believe my little Sarah Bear is on her way to turning 1 at the end of the summer.

Our $10 double stroller

I love to shop the classified ads on ksl.com! I have bought so much from off of ksl it's getting a bit ridiculous. I bought my car after my mission, our townhome after we got married, our awesome futon (only $10), tons for free clothes for Sadie, a kitchen side counter thingy (also free), Sarah's tummy time mat and Bumbo and now this double stroller for only $10! It's obviously old but it works just great! Today we took it out on it's maiden voyage and Sadie couldn't have been happier about it. She actually cries when I put it away. You'd almost think that was cute...it's not...but that's how much she loves it.

I did it!

So this is how it feels to set a goal and actually achieve it?! Huh, feels pretty good. I guess I'm just not a goal setter but after this...I might just become one. :)
I really am giving myself one big pat on the back for this one. I haven't touched a sewing machine since Jr. High and I actually made something cute and crafty for my girls! My mom did help get the machine ready for me and helped me figure things out when I messed something up but for the most part this cute hooded towel is a creation of my own two hands. Sadie wouldn't just smile for the camera so this pic will have to do for now. :)

A rose from Daddy

I guess I'm a little late but Sadie looked so pretty on Valentines day. She's holding the rose her daddy gave her. She loved to smell it and was dancing with it in the front yard. I think we all have spring fever!

I'm going to get crafty!

So to be accountable to someone I'm telling all of you about the cute hooded towels I'm going to make for my girls. My friend Julie shared a fun blog with me www.makeitandloveit.blogspot.com and the stuff this lady does is so cute and she makes it look so easy. So here it is http://makeitandloveit.blogspot.com/search/label/baby?updated-max=2009-08-25T12%3A49%3A00-04%3A00&max-results=20 I'm giving myself 3 weeks to get it done. I'll be sure to share pictures of my girls enjoying their Mommy's first creation of creativity. Wish my luck!

Love the Olympics. Hate the BIG red hair!

The hubs and I are really enjoying watching the Olympics. Love the figure skating, love the short track speed skating (Go Apollo!), love the moguls, love the snowboarding! Hate and yes I mean HATE the big red hair. Remember the song "No Scrubs"? Well that scrub needs to cut his ugly red mop! Ok so he's an Olympian, ok so he's got mad skill on the half pipe but hello! The WORLD is watching you. You don't like your nick name...DO something about it! Get a freakin hair cut buddy!

All I blog about...

I love reading other people's blogs and it's made me realize that all I blog about is my kids. As cute as they are and as much as I love them, there is more to me and my family than these two cute girls. Although we're not as cute and we're certainly not as entertaining you're going to get an update on Kathie and Daric. Right now Kathie is missing Daric as he is in Idaho for the entire work week. I'm so thankful that he has a job that he loves but it really stinks when he has to travel. I know they say that distance makes the heart grow fonder but in all my experience the truth is that distance makes the heart grow lonely. I guess I will say that I appreciate him a lot more when he gets home.

Daric works for Praxair as a manager. They have promoted him which is great and it will be even better when he receives the raise that should come with a promotion. That is coming in April, don't ask me why they didn't come at the same time. I'm just keeping a optimistic view in that he has a great job when many are losing their jobs. Daric turned 30 this past month and for his big day he got to go to Denver with his bro and two cousins for a Chiefs game. I know, I'm such a nice wife! Just ask Daric.

I get to stay home with our girls which is a major blessing! I love every minute with them and I wouldn't have it any other way. I am starting to do some babysitting. I have placed an ad on ksl to be a back up babysitter. I don't want to watch kids every day of the week as my hands are already pretty full but it is nice to get out of the house and switch up the routine now and then. It's also great for Sadie to have other kids to play with and a little extra cash never hurt a shopaholic...or so I'll pretend. I've got one family that I will be a back up for (they have one very cute 12 month old boy) and I'm meeting another family on Tuesday. We'll see how it goes. :) Outside of mommyhood and babysitting...hmm...I love to shop and really need to find a healthier and more affordable hobby. Sad that all was going to report was a few shopping trips without kids and a girls night out to see When in Rome. (Very cute movie, surprisingly clean too, you should see it!) I shouldn't say that it's sad though because those girls make me happier than I ever knew was possible. I'm so privileged to have them and to be their mommy. I love my cute little family so much, they are my world, what more do I need?

Well there you have it, a post that wasn't all about Sadie and Sarah...don't worry, I know it was pretty boring...I'll stick to the girls most of the time. :)

growing so fast and learning so much

When did my baby girl grow up to be big enough to eat cereal like the rest of us?! She absolutely requires that I give her a spoon and put milk in her bowl of cereal in the morning. Can you believe it?! She eats it so well that she even asks for more. It is rare that the second helping is eaten let a lone even touched but she's so dang cute when she signs "more" that there is really nothing else to do than to give in and waste that hand full of cereal. Yeah, her cuteness is worth it. :)
This little lady has grown up so much that she now eats sandwiches without pulling them apart (sometimes). She ate a taco all rolled up the other night and she can peel her own clementine! What a talented child I have!
I have started doing time outs with Sadie and she totally knows what it means when I ask her if she needs one and she usually stops whatever bad behavior she's doing right then. I didn't think she was ready for it but after visiting a family with a little guy her age that understood it perfectly I thought it was worth a try. Man, I should have started this months ago! She's really cute when she comes over to me all sorrowful and gives hugs to say sorry. It's amazing to watch her learn.
